This page provides an overview of different providers of Motoring Museums around the World.

The WFFMM does not endorse or prefer one over another and leaves it up to the public to select the one that works best for them in the discovery of the museums.

The providers of the website are the sole responsible for the content.

Motoring Museum’s Lighthouse

“Automuseums.info is the biggest and most comprehensive guide to automobile museums worldwide. It lists 1663 museums and collections from 67 countries, where cars, motorcycles, trucks, coaches/buses, fire engines, scale models or automobilia are being displayed.

The criteria for inclusion is simple: it must be open to the public either regularly or by appointment. There has to be a core collection which is not for sale – so those showrooms which advertise themselves as “museums” are not included. On the other hand, several smaller museums where only a handful of motor vehicles are exhibited have been included.

Every guide’s Achilles heel is the frequency of the updates. The guide is maintained by a small team. The team is continuously on the lookout for changes, museum closures, new museum openings and other events. We are trying to be as up-to-date as possible. However, if you spot an error, please make sure to drop us a line.

Automuseums.info was created by Dr Pál Négyesi, a Hungarian born motoring historian, magazine editor and museum professional. He is one of only a handful of people who wrote a doctoral thesis on automotive museums. Titled “How the Motor Museum Saw the Automobile?”, it charts the change in curatorial practices regarding the display of automobile in German and Austrian museums in the 20th century.”

Automotive Museum Guide

“A TRIP TO AN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM IS A TRIP TO THE PAST
We are excited to bring you the most up-to-date information about all the automotive museums across the US.

The Automotive Museum Guide was created by Sean and Torie Mathis. Sean and Torie started Miles Through Time Automotive Museum in 2017 with only one car, a 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville, which originally belonged to Sean’s grandfather (Pop.)
Torie is a marketing expert and used her skills to create the branding for Miles Through Time and the design for Automotive Museum Guide.”
